  1. Painkiller was formed in and featured saxophonist John Zorn, bassist Bill Laswell and Napalm Death drummer and Scorn founder Mick Harris on drums. The band began performing a mix of avantgarde jazz and grindcore, though later incorporated ambient and dub elements.

  4. First CD contains three improvs, with Zorn's extreme sax screaming. Second CD contains ambient versions of two compositions from the first CD. Noise, doom, dark ambient and free jazz - what is all you fill find there. Great shamanism, danger in air. Far from beauty of all sorts, but monument to cold nervous world of strange voices.
  5. Even though this record settles into a finale of three successive folk-rock tunes -- all three softly gorgeous -- it's the previous series of left-hand tours that gives Pain Killer its kick: this is the rarest thing in contemporary country, a record with an expansive world-view delivered with a kinetic kick and infallible melodies, a record that gives no indication of where it's going upon first listen but remains 9/
  6. Little Big Town, who have been together for 15 years, release Pain Killer on the heels of their highly successful, platinum-selling album Tornado almost exactly two years later. Tornado was one of only 10 country albums to achieve platinum certification in and features back-to-back #1 hit singles Pontoon and Tornado/5(1).
  7. That constant, balls-out intensity is a big reason why metal's younger generation has come to consider Painkiller perhaps the ultimate speed metal album. Older Priest fans will likely complain that the lyrics are silly, and they won't be wrong -- for all its fury, the title track is about the winged knight riding the monster motorcycle depicted on the front cover.
  8. But don't buy this! Invest instead in the "The Complete Studio Recordings " which includes this album, the second and the final double album plus "Marianne" and a "Live In Osaka" album. Four CDs which will melt the rest of your album collection into the fat blob it will seem after the PAINKILLER .
